Families in need of financial support will be able to benefit from an Operation Round Up grant to send their children to summer camps at the St. Charles County Family YMCA.
The nonprofit organization holds a variety of camps each summer focusing on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
The YMCA was awarded a $2,500 grant to help offset the weekly fee for campers who attend.
The summer day camp program is open to children ages 5 to 13. The programs cover areas such as arts, crafts, STEM, games, nature exploration and swimming. Each week has a different theme exposing campers to specific activities.
“The summer day camp provides opportunities to learn new skills, build self-confidence and make lasting friendships,” Executive Director Renee Tillman said.
In 2019, the YMCA served more than 5,700 individuals through memberships and programs. For more information call 636-928-1928 or visit gwrymca.org/stcharles. The St. Charles County Family YMCA is located at 3900 Shady Springs Lane in St. Peters.
