Helping you save

Because Cuivre River Electric Cooperative (CREC) is an electric cooperative, we exist to serve you, our members. And unlike other companies, we actually encourage you to use less of our product and offer resources for how to save both energy and money.

Rebates

As of 1/1/2025, all rebate applications MUST be submitted online.

CREC members have received more than $4.7 million in TCS rebates since they were introduced in 2008. Energy demand savings from GSHP and Dual Fuel Heat Pump installations exceed 4 megawatts compared to standard efficiency electric heating options. More than 6,654 tons of high-efficiency heating and cooling have been installed.

Rebates* available for homes and businesses include:

Electric Vehicle Charger Rebate

50% of the total cost up to $250 per charger. Equipment must be new and UL rated. Limit two rebates per member location. Rebate is for charger only.

 

Water Heater Rebate

$50 for 90% efficient standard electric and Heat Pump tank-style water heaters, 40-gallon minimum (tankless units are not eligible).

 

Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) Rebate

$750 per Ton for qualifying new installations,19.1 EER minimum for all units. Click here for more information on the benefits of GSHPs.

 

Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) Replacement Rebate

$150 per Ton for qualifying replacement units, 19.1 EER minimum for all units. Click here for more information on the benefits of GSHPs. 

 

Basement/Crawl Space/Slab Floor Insulation Rebate

50% (up to $500) when installed in conjunction with a GSHP. Insulation must meet current Energy Star® R-Value recommendations

 

Dual Fuel Heat Pump

$150 per Ton for qualifying installations, 17.2 SEER2 minimum, with supplemental gas or propane heating. No electric-resistant heat is permitted.

 

Mini Split Unit Rebate

$150 per Ton for qualifying installations, 17.2 SEER2 minimum, with supplemental gas or propane heating. No electric-resistant heat is permitted.

Advanced Thermostats

Up to $50 rebate for an Energy Star "smart" thermostat (not to exceed 50 percent of the total cost). This is for new construction or the replacement of an existing non-Energy Star thermostat. It can be used with any type of heating and cooling system. Limit two per member address.

 

Heat Pump Water Heater

Up to $500 rebate for an Energy Star unit (not to exceed 50 percent of the total cost). Replacing a gas water heater with a heat pump water heater is eligible. Tankless or gas water heaters are not eligible.

 

Window Air Conditioning

Up to $50 rebate for the purchase of one new Energy Star-rated unit or for the replacement of an existing unit. The rebate amount is limited to 50 percent of the total cost of the unit.         

 

Business Lighting Rebate

Amounts vary. Criteria** are available for schools and commercial establishments undertaking energy-efficient lighting installations and upgrades. New construction no longer qualifies.

**Business Lighting Rebate amounts are based on the energy to be saved per fixture (10-bulb minimum), capped at $30,000 per year, and cannot exceed 40% of lighting equipment cost.
