The Cuivre River Electric Community Trust Board met in September and awarded $30,700 in grants funded through Operation Round Up. Health grants were awarded to 14 individuals and families from Elsberry, Foley, O’Fallon, St. Charles, St. Peters, Troy, Warrenton, Weldon Spring, Wentzville, and Wright City. They included supporting cataract removal for a disabled woman; helping an individual with medical expenses, funding a walk-in shower stall for a gentleman with developmental and physical disabilities, and supporting attendance for a teen at SOAR camp which serves developmental and physically disabled individuals. Several weatherization grants were also awarded, supporting a woman needing insulation for her mobile home and replacing windows in the mobile home of a single mom.

Community organizations that received grants included:
Bridge of Hope — $8,700 to fund the installation of a fence around a homeless shelter for added security.
Emmaus Homes, Inc. — $1,027 to help support the purchase of blood pressure cuffs for homes the organization serves in CREC territory.
First Step Back Home — $3,000 to help with emergency lodging needs for clients of this homeless ministry.

We are grateful to our members who participate in the Operation Round Up program! Your generous support helps us to help those in need in the communities we serve.
