The Cuivre River Electric Community Trust Board met in May and awarded $24,863 in grants funded through Operation Round Up. Health grants were awarded to nine individuals and families from Foristell, O’Fallon, Troy, Warrenton, and Wright City, and included helping a woman with funding for an adjustable bed. Community organizations that received grants included:
• Lincoln County R-III School District — $2,500 to help with funding for a portable vision screener for use throughout the district.
• Habitat for Humanity — $5,000 to help with building supplies for the organization’s Haven Pointe community that will eventually result in 46 townhome units.
• Nurses for Newborns Foundation — $1,500 to help with funding screening tools for home visits to at-risk infants and families.
• Adopt-a-Family Ministry — $1,000 to help with supplies for the organization’s Nurses’ Needs program.
• Pink Ribbon Good — $1,500 to support meals delivered to patients undergoing breast and gynecological cancer treatment and their families.
• Wright City Fire District — $5,380 to support the purchase of firefighting turnout gear from their volunteer firefighters.
• Warren County Emergency Management Agency — $2,659 to help with purchasing weather alert radios for critical facilities and at-risk populations throughout Warren County.
