Operation Round Up awarded $26,700 in grants in May 2023

The Cuivre River Electric Community Trust Board met in May and awarded just over $26,700 in grants funded through Operation Round Up. Health grants were awarded
to 11 individuals and families from O’Fallon, New Hartford, St. Charles, St. Peters, Troy, and Winfield.

Grants included supporting a developmentally disabled young adult to attend Camp Wonderland; helping a family with funds for occupational therapy for their autistic children, funding to help purchase a washer/dryer for a disabled woman; and a weatherization grant to help replace the decaying windows of a single mother’s home.

Community organizations that received grants included:
Oasis Food Pantry — $2,500 to help support their 2023 Christmas shop evening for client families in need.
• New Salem Baptist Church — $3,000 to help supply their women’s ministry with personal hygiene and cleaning products for low-income individuals.
Bowling Green Elementary School — $2,400 to help fund tablets for their Tiny Tech Learners program.
Hanani House — $2,400 to help their recovery house program which serves individuals in recovery from substance abuse disorders.
Warrenton High School ACES — $750 to support costs related to student participation in the Academic Challenge in Engineering and Science competition.
