The Cuivre River Electric Community Trust Board met in June and awarded $28,000 in grants funded through Operation Round Up. Health grants were awarded to seven individuals and families from Elsberry, St. Peters, Troy, Truxton, Warrenton, Wentzville, and Winfield, and included supporting a disabled individual in need of having a wheelchair ramp constructed.
Community organizations that received grants included:
· William Cappel Elementary (Bright Futures Grant) — $2,400 to fund the purchase of supplies for their CORE sensory support room for students in need.
· New Melle Fire Protection District — $3,058 to support the cost of a washer and dryer for the District’s new firehouse.
· United Services — $2,500 to help with the purchase of playground equipment for developmentally disabled children.
· Youth in Need — $2,000 to support food and supplies for the emergency shelter for youth.
· St. Vincent DePaul-Holy Rosary — $2,500 for food and supplies for the organization’s food pantry.
· Wright City Police Department — $2,500 to help the department start their drone program – for training.
· Bethel Hills — $2,996 to help support the purchase of stoves for the organization’s housing for those with developmental disabilities.
