The Cuivre River Electric Community Trust Board met in July and awarded $26,581 in grants funded through Operation Round Up. Health grants were awarded to 13 individuals and families from Foristell, Jonesburg, Moscow Mills, O’Fallon, Old Monroe, Troy, Warrenton, and Wright City, and included helping a disabled individual with a deck/ramp; supporting a woman in need of eyeglasses; helping a gentleman who needed to replace a water heater; helping a disabled gentleman with a well pump replacement and supporting a family with an autistic child in need of a special swing. A weatherization grant supported the repair of an HVAC system for a disabled woman.

Community organizations that received grants included:
• Divine Nest — $2,000 to help with the organization’s program that supports adoptive and foster families.
• NorthRoad Academy — $1,500 to help fund playground equipment and materials for the school’s outdoor classroom.
• Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri — $1,512 to help support the installation of additional AED units at the organization’s Camp Tuckaho.
• Sts. Joachim & Ann Care Service — $3,500 to support the organization’s program for emergency housing.
• Cottleville Firefighters Community Outreach — $2,675 to help with their outreach program to provide smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to community members in need.
• Bethel Hills — $2,500 to help with the purchase of a gazebo and materials for the organization’s outdoor area of their housing for intellectual/developmentally disabled residents.
