The Cuivre River Electric Community Trust Board met in January and awarded $35,546 in grants funded through Operation Round Up. Health grants were awarded to 17 individuals and families from Foley, Marthasville, O’Fallon, Old Monroe, St. Peters, Troy, Warrenton, Wentzville, Winfield, and Wright City, and included helping a disabled woman in need of a new refrigerator and providing supplies and sensory items for the autistic children of several families.
Community organizations that received grants included:
- Troy South Elementary — $1,679 to help fund seat pockets to hold materials for desks.
- Elsberry R-II Parents as Teachers — $1,000 to help support the organization’s purchase of a vision screener.
- Guild Men’s Fellowship — $4,000 in support of the organization’s programs to help first responders with coaching/wellness after trauma events.
- Lincoln County Council on Aging — $2,000 to help with the organization’s meal delivery program.
- Great Rivers Crisis Intervention Team Council — $5,000 in support of the training for law enforcement to identify psychiatric components in those who may need assistance with behavioral health.
- Sleep in Heavenly Peace — $5,000 to help fund materials for building beds for children in need.
- St. Charles County Family YMCA — $3,500 in support of the organization’s before and after-school care for low-income families.
