The Cuivre River Electric Community Trust Board met in December and awarded $24,192 in grants funded through Operation Round Up. Health grants were awarded to 13 individuals and families from Elsberry, Foristell, Moscow Mills, O’Fallon, St. Charles, St. Peters, Troy, Warrenton, and Wentzville, and included helping an autistic young adult purchase a tablet to help with communication.
Community organizations that received grants included:
• Youth in Need — $2,000 to fund the purchase of needed items such as food and hygiene products for youth at the organization’s emergency shelters.
• Wright City Lion’s Club — $8,600 to help fund a replacement for one of the HVAC units for their building.
Holiday grants of $500 each were awarded on behalf of each Operation Round Up trustee to these community organizations:
• Central Missouri Honor Flight
• Elsberry R-2 Buddy Backpack Program
• St. Vincent de Paul – New Melle (two grants)
• St. Charles Community College Foundation/Mark
Dunham Memorial Scholarship
• Turning Point Advocacy Services
• Warren County Pathfinders/Special Olympics
