The Cuivre River Electric Community Trust Board met in August and awarded just over $22,770 in grants funded through Operation Round Up. Health grants were awarded to eight individuals and families from Moscow Mills, Old Monroe, Troy, Warrenton, Wentzville, Winfield, and Wright City. Grants included supporting a disabled gentleman and his family who needed repairs to their well; funding a special wagon for a family with an autistic child, helping a disabled gentleman with new glasses, and helping a woman rid her home of bedbugs. A weatherization grant was awarded to a woman in need of repairs to her home’s HVAC system.
Community organizations that received grants included:
• Foley Baptist Church — $3,000 to help restock the church’s food pantry to help those in need in their communities.
• Operation Backpack-Wentzville United Methodist Church — $1,000 to help fund supplies for the program which provides food for at-risk children on the weekend when they do not have access to the free lunch/breakfast programs at school.
• The Child Advocacy Center, Inc. — $3,600 to support funding for equipment for forensic interviews/remote meeting software as part of the organization’s program to help children who have suffered abuse.
• Marthasville Volunteer Fire Department — $1,998 for purchasing gas/air monitors for the fire trucks on calls to help identify hazardous environments.
We are grateful to our members who participate in the Operation Round Up program! Your generous support helps us to help those in need in the communities we serve.
