The Cuivre River Electric Community Trust Board met in October and awarded $17,677 in grants funded through Operation Round Up. Health grants were awarded to six individuals and families from Dardenne Prairie, Foley, Moscow Mills, St. Peters, Troy, and Warrenton.
Community organizations that received grants included:
- KVC Missouri — $1,000 to help fund programs for the behavioral health organization that assists children with significant emotional and behavioral challenges.
- Bowling Green Middle School — $1,000 to help support the school’s Veteran’s Day Breakfast that unites local veterans with middle school students who hear first-hand stories about veterans’ experiences.
- Eagle’s Wings — $3,000 to help support the organization’s “shopping” days for low-income students in St. Charles County in need of clothing.
- American Red Cross — $1,000 to help with the organization’s home fire assistance program for families in CREC’s service areas.
- Disabled Athlete Sports Association — $1,000 to help fund equipment and competition fees for paralympic athletes in the organization’s Boccia program.
- Great Rivers Crisis Intervention — $5,000 to support mental health training programs for law enforcement and ambulance districts that serve CREC areas.
- Warrenton High School Robotics — $1,000 to support registration fees for competition and funding for parts needed to build robots for competition.
