The Cuivre River Electric Community Trust Board met in November and awarded $21,361 in grants funded through Operation Round Up. Health grants were awarded to five individuals and families from O’Fallon, St. Peters, Troy, and Wentzville, and included helping a family with supplies needed for their autistic child. A weatherization grant was awarded to a woman for replacing her water heater.
Community organizations that received grants included:
- Christmas Dinners 2023— $2,000 to help fund and deliver Christmas Day meals to needy families and first responders on duty in Troy.
- St. Clement School — $3,000 to help support funding the school’s accessible playground.
- First Step Back Home — $7,000 to help support the lodging of the homeless in areas served by CREC.
- Addiction is Real, Inc. — $2,500 to help with the organization’s program for drug addiction prevention for youth.
- Sts. Joachim and Ann — $1,000 to help support low-income homeless and on the verge of homelessness families in need in areas served by CREC.
