The Cuivre River Electric Community Trust Board met in December and awarded $34,357 in grants funded through Operation Round Up. Health grants were awarded to 12 individuals and families from Elsberry, Marthasville, Moscow Mills, O’Fallon, St. Charles, Troy, and Warrenton, Wright City, and included supporting an individual needing a medical procedure. A weatherization grant was awarded to a woman for replacing her HVAC system.

Community organizations that received grants included: 

  • Lincoln County Council on Aging— $3,500 to support the organization’s Meals Matters initiative to provide meals for needy residents of the county. 
  • Ekklesia Church — $1,960 to help purchase deep freezers to store meat for distribution through the ministry’s food pantry.
  • OATS — $4,000 to help support the purchase of a new handicapped-accessible van for their transportation services to older adults in our area.
  • Youth in Need — $1,500 to help the agency’s emergency shelter in St. Charles County for homeless youth.
  • The 10-78 Project — $2,500 to help the organization’s program to support therapy needs for police officers after involvement in critical incidents/officer-involved shootings.
  • Tri-County Advisory to Probation — $2,000 to help fund treatment programs for individuals re-entering society after incarceration or being placed on probation.

A Bright Future Grant was awarded to:

  • St. Paul School — $2,097 to support the purchase of swing sets that can serve students with disabilities.
