The Cuivre River Electric Community Trust Board met in April and awarded $25,503 in grants funded through Operation Round Up. Health grants were awarded to 12 individuals and families from Bowling Green, Elsberry, St. Peters, St. Charles, Warrenton, and Wentzville, and included helping four developmentally disabled adults with attendance fees for Camp Wonderland, and another disabled child with attendance at Sunny Hill, a special needs camp. A health grant also helped a woman with MS update her powerlift wheelchair. Community organizations that received grants included:

  • Walker Scottish Rite Clinic — $1,000 to help with funding speech language assessments provided through the Lincoln County Health Department.
  • New Salem Baptist Church — $1,500 to help with the purchase of personal hygiene items for the organization’s pantry.
  • Twin Pike Family YMCA — $1,000 to help with their before and after-school programs.
  • St. Charles County Library Foundation — $2,500 to fund covers for the holds hopper lockers outside of their building.
  • Greater St. Louis Area Scouting — $1,275 to support camp scholarships for children of families in need.
  • LINC of St. Charles — $2,500 to support the purchase of food, furniture, and activity items for the organization’s respite program for children in foster care.
  • Addiction Is Real, Inc. — $500 to help with upkeep of the organization’s mobile prevention unit trailer, for their programs on preventing substance abuse.
  • Scenic Regional Library — $2,348 to support the purchase of AED units for branches in Warrenton/Wright City.
  • Warren County R-III School District — $2,250 to help with purchasing “Stop the Bleed” kits for their elementary, middle, and high school locations.
