The Cuivre River Electric Community Trust Board met in April and awarded $26,886 in grants funded through Operation Round Up. Health grants were awarded to 12 individuals and families from Bowling Green, Frankford, O’Fallon, Silex, St. Charles, St. Peters, Troy, Warrenton, Wentzville, and Winfield, and included supporting a developmentally disabled individual to attend Camp Wonderland for special needs, replacement of septic pump for a disabled woman, funding a therapeutic swing for a disabled child, helping families with support for medical transport and surgeries.

Community organizations that received grants included:
The Key Youth, Inc. — $5,000 to support the organization’s shelter, food, and care needs for housing homeless youth.

Clopton Hawks Booster Club — $1,000 to support the organization’s purchase of replacement track equipment for Clopton High School.

Rural Parish Clinic — $2,500 to support individuals from CREC’s area in need of dental services provided by the organization.

• Adopt-a-Family Ministry— $1,000 to support the organization’s Nurse’s Needs program, for items school nurses provide to kids that are not in their budget.

Women of Little Black Book — $2,500 to support the organization’s effort to supply low-income women with feminine hygiene products.

Our Lady’s Inn — $2,500 to support the building of new stairs at the organization’s facility that houses homeless pregnant women.
