The Cuivre River Electric Community Trust Board met in April and awarded just over $30,891 in grants funded through Operation Round Up. Health grants were awarded to 13 individuals and families from Bowling Green, Eolia, Foley, Foristell, Moscow Mills, Silex, Troy, Warrenton, and Wentzville.
Grants included funding for several developmentally disabled young adults to attend Camp Wonderland; support for an autistic child to participate in therapeutic horsemanship; funding for a hearing aid for a disabled man; funding to help purchase a washer/dryer for a disabled woman; and help for a disabled man in need of furnace repairs and help with medical needs.
Community organizations that received grants included:
• Lincoln County Council on Aging — $6,000 to help replace their walk-in freezer for their Meals Matter program.
• Twin Pike Family YMCA — $1,000 to fund scholarships for low-income families’ kids to attend summer camp.
• Habitat for Humanity — $3,381 to help fund materials for their 2023 building season.
• Wentzville United Methodist Adopt-A-Family Ministry — $1,000 to help with supplies for their Nurses Needs program for the underserved and homeless.
• Marthasville Community Ambulance District — $1,000 to help support the cost of a medication pump for their ambulance.
• Wesleyan Kiddie Kollege — $1,938 to support purchasing an AED machine for their community school.
• Good Shepherd Lutheran Center — $1,000 to help repair a wall of the center’s building.
