This year’s CREC Board of Directors election brought in a total of 2,012 votes from the co-op’s annual meeting and from paper ballots and online voting prior to it.
Results from the election for four directors in the co-op’s four districts with seats open were announced at the annual meeting on Aug. 26, which was streamed live on the co-op’s YouTube channel. A recording of the broadcast is available on CREC’s YouTube channel at https://youtu.be/hIB4gXrGbUY.
The three incumbents who chose to run for re-election were selected by members for new three-year terms. Mick Burkemper was re-elected in Lincoln County District 3. In St. Charles County District 1, Mark Schulte was re-elected and Dale Anderson was re-elected to St. Charles County District 3. New to the board will be Steve Coffey, who was elected to Warren County District 2.
One proposition to amend the cooperative bylaws was also approved by voters. The change allows the Board of Directors to retire capital credits of inactive members within a determined length of time.
