Budget Billing

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When you enroll in the program, your budget amount is figured from your previous 12 months of use, plus a small percentage to allow for seasonal temperatures. You then will pay this amount for the next 11 months. On the 12th month, a new budget average will be figured from your previous 12 months of use plus any remaining balance will be carried over.

The only time you have to reconcile your account is when you leave CREC’s system, or when you decide you no longer want to participate in the CREC Budget Billing plan.
 

You can participate in Budget Billing if you meet the following simple requirements:
•    You must have an acceptable credit history
•    You must keep your budget billing account current.
 

Budget Billing is free. There are no sign-up charges or monthly fees. All you need to do is keep your account current – which is easy if you also participate in our automatic payment plan, Auto-Pay. 

You can use our mobile app, MyCuivre, or access your account through our member web portal to help you monitor your account and settings, daily energy use, charges, and payments. This along with alerts enables members to be proactive about their account.

Your CREC bill also shows you the number of kilowatt-hours of electricity that you use each month so that you can track your energy use.
