June 18, 2020 Update:

CREC asks that members who have been financially affected by Covid-19 and may be having difficulty with paying their bill to please contact us so that we can work with you.  
Call -- 800-392-3709, then:

  • Select Option 2 for our automated attendant, or
  • Select Option 3 to reach a customer representative

We also encourage you to learn more about payment options including AutoPay, Due Date Choice, MyPower and Budget Billing. 

Consider applying with LIHEAP (Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program). The program recently received additional funding to help low-income Missourians with payments for their summer cooling bills.  Contact NECAC to apply (800-748-7636), or visit the Department of Social Services website.

May 4, 2020 Update: 

Based on Missouri Governor Mike Parson’s “Show Me Strong Recovery” plan that goes into effect as of May 4, Cuivre River Electric Cooperative (CREC) will begin gradually reopening its offices located in Troy and Lake Saint Louis.

CREC’s phase-in plan will start with bringing back employees -- who have been working at home and are not sick or showing symptoms -- on-site to work, still abiding by social distancing requirements when possible, including maintaining six feet of space between individuals. When performing job duties that require contact with other people closer than six feet, employees will be taking enhanced precautionary measures, such as wearing masks, continuing handwashing and sanitizing, and using proper surface sanitizing techniques to mitigate the risks of contracting or spreading the COVID-19 virus.

In the coming weeks, CREC’s drive-through windows and lobbies will reopen, also requiring visitors to follow social distancing guidelines.

“While we are targeting June for allowing members and visitors access to our buildings again, we also must keep in mind that this will depend on the status of the coronavirus pandemic at that time,” says General Manager/CEO Doug Tracy. “The safety of both our employees and our members is first and foremost. Even after access to our building is restored, we will be taking additional steps to ensure social distancing and other precautionary measures are followed.”

With guidance from both the CDC and the World Health Organization, Cuivre River Electric Cooperative is taking steps now to be prepared should there be a significant impact from the Coronavirus in the communities we serve. We are focused on maintaining a healthy workforce, and keeping key personnel available so that we can continue to provide the excellent service you expect from us. 

As of March 18, 2020, CREC closed its lobbies and drive-thrus to minimize exposure risk to the Coronavirus. You can also still manage your CREC account with a phone call to the co-op, or access it using the MyCuivre app on your mobile device, or online through our member portal. We also encourage you to keep an eye on our website and social media channels for updates as they develop.

Suspension of disconnection -- CREC will suspend all disconnections for non-payment for residential and business customers, for the time being.  When the suspension ends, we will provide an update on this page or you can expect a phone call or notification via your bill if you are affected. MyPower/prepaid accounts are included in the suspension. Members still need to try and keep a credit on their account, otherwise they could have a large balance due when the suspension is lifted. We encourage our members who may have difficulty paying their bill to contact our office at 800-392-3709 or email, and we will work with you on arrangements. If you are new to CREC and need to sign up for service:

If you have just moved into the Cuivre River Electric Cooperative (CREC) service area and need to sign up for electric service, we encourage you to use the co-op’s online application form. Due to the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, CREC has closed its lobbies and drive-thrus, so we want to ensure new residents that they can still sign up for service using this online choice. Members who receive and pay their electric bill via U.S. mail may want to consider paying online and transitioning to CREC’s Auto-Pay option. Because CREC has closed its lobbies and drive-thrus in an effort to prevent the potential spread of Coronavirus, members will still have an online option to make payments. Currently, CREC members can still make payments using our drop boxes in Troy and Lake Saint Louis (8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.). Please keep an eye on our website for any new developments that may change this option. We encourage you to also consider other choices such as paying online or by phone.

  • Pay online: Use CREC's secure member portal 24/7/365 to pay month-to- month or enroll in Auto-Pay. Select your payment methods, view your bill and account history, and go paperless if you choose.
  • MyCuivreApp: View your bill, sign up for alerts and reminders, view your payment history, pay your bill and more with our Mobile Web App.
  • Pay by phone**: Call 800-392-3709 to pay by credit or debit card anytime of the day or night 365 days a year. (**indicates restrictions may apply for accounts in arrears).
